SUB: WORLD TOURISM DAY 2001 ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2001

Twenty - Second World Tourism Day 2001 will be celebrated on 27th September 2001 with the theme: "Tourism-a Tool for Peace and Dialogue among Civilizations".In choosing "Peace and Dialogue among Civilizations" as the theme for World Tourism Day 2001, the General Assembly of WTO, meeting at Santiago, Chile in October 1999, wished to draw attention to tourism's notable contribution to securing peace among peoples and to strengthening the interaction and cultural and trading links between civilizations.

All member hotels of HAI are requested to organize programmes and events befitting to the occasion. The Secretariat will be happy to report in HAI Journal on the different initiatives taken by the member hotels to commemorate this worldwide event. Detailed information with photographs on specific activities carried out by members will be most welcome.
